When God spoke to us through Jesus, He spoke glory into our lives. Jesus did not come merely to save us from sin; He came to restore us to the glorious destiny God ordained for us from the beginning.
You were not created to live an ordinary life. God has ordained you to carry His glory, reveal His beauty, and make a difference in your generation. The latter house glory is not just a prophecy for the future; it is a present reality for every believer who aligns with God’s purpose.
The prophet Haggai spoke to a people who had become discouraged. They looked at the ruins around them and compared their present condition with the former glory of the temple. But God gave them a powerful promise in Haggai 2:3–9, “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts.”
This promise is not limited to a physical building. It reveals God’s intention for His people—that our latter days, our latter works, and our latter manifestations will carry greater glory than anything that has gone before.
What is Glory?
Glory can be described as great beauty or splendour so overwhelming that it is considered powerful. Yet human definitions cannot fully capture the depth of God’s glory. We must depend on the Spirit of God to give us adequate revelation.
The glory of God is the essence of divinity. It is the visible expression of God’s nature, power, beauty, and presence. Wherever God’s glory is revealed, darkness is dispelled, lives are transformed, and purpose is awakened.
Jesus: The Manifestation of God’s Glory
The prophet Isaiah foretold the coming of Jesus in Isaiah 42:1–8. He would be God’s chosen servant, bringing justice, light, and salvation to the nations. This prophecy was fulfilled in Christ. John 1:14 declares, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory.” Hebrews 1:1–3 further reveals that Jesus is the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person. Jesus is the Word of God made flesh; therefore, He is the manifestation of God’s glory.

Psalm 87:3 says, “Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God.” And in John 17:22, Jesus prayed, “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them.” This means that the glory of Christ is not distant from us. It has been imparted to us as believers. We are not powerless people begging for glory; we are carriers of God’s glory.
We Are the Latter House
The most profound revelation is this: we are the latter house. God no longer dwells in temples made with hands alone. He dwells in His people. Our lives have become His habitation. As young people, this truth should change the way we see ourselves. You are not just a student, entrepreneur, worker, or youth leader. You are a vessel designed to reveal the glory of God in your generation.
How to Partake of the Latter House Glory
1. Align with God’s Plan
Isaiah 43:18–19 says, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth.” God’s glory is revealed in those who align with His divine plan. When you surrender your ambitions, dreams, and future to God, He begins to orchestrate a new thing in your life. The youth who walks in obedience will experience dimensions of glory that cannot be explained by human effort alone.
2. Press On to the Latter Glory
The Apostle Paul declared in Philippians 3:12–13 that he had not yet attained the fullness of his existence, but he pressed on toward the mark. This means that all that you’ve seen so far is not all there is about you. Glory is not for those who remain stagnant. It is for those who pursue God relentlessly, refusing to settle for mediocrity. Young people must learn to press beyond excuses, failures, and past disappointments. Your latter glory is ahead of you, not behind you.
3. Look Beyond Your Present Circumstances
Romans 8:18 reminds us, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Your current challenges do not define your future. The struggles you face today are temporary, but the glory God has prepared for you is eternal. Never allow your present circumstances to limit your expectation of God’s greater glory.
4. Chazar the Glory
In 2 Corinthians 3:5–18, we are taught that as we behold the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into the same image from glory to glory. To “Chazar” the glory means to gaze upon, meditate on, and pursue the revelation of God’s glory until it becomes evident in our lives. The more you behold Christ through His Word, prayer, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, the more His glory is reflected in you and through you.
Glorious Things Spoken of Us
The Bible is filled with glorious declarations concerning God’s people. As believers, we must boldly speak these truths over our lives:
- We are the light of the world.
- We are the salt of the earth.
- Goodness and mercy follow us.
- We are the sons of God.
- The lines have fallen unto us in pleasant places.
- We have a goodly heritage.
- We are trees of righteousness.
- We eat the good of the land.
- We are a chosen generation.
- We are more than conquerors through Christ.
When we declare these truths in faith, we align our hearts with God’s Word and position ourselves to manifest His glory.
The more you behold Christ through His Word, prayer, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, the more His glory is reflected in you and through you.
A Youth Case Study: The Story of David
David was a young shepherd boy, overlooked by his family and underestimated by society. Yet while others saw only a shepherd, God saw a king. David aligned with God’s plan, pressed on in faith, looked beyond his humble circumstances, and continually beheld God’s glory through worship.
When Goliath stood before Israel, David did not see an impossible giant. He saw an opportunity for God’s glory to be revealed. His faith and obedience transformed him from an unknown youth into one of the greatest kings in Israel’s history. David’s story teaches us that the latter house glory is not reserved for the already famous or powerful. It is available to every young person who chooses to trust God completely.
My Personal Story
As a young man, there were seasons when I questioned whether God could truly use me to impact lives. I looked at my limitations, resources, and experiences, and at times I felt inadequate. But God began to teach me that His glory is not dependent on human qualification. It is dependent on divine surrender.
When I yielded my life to God’s purpose and began to serve faithfully, He started opening doors I could never have opened by myself. Through Life Upgrade with Uche, I have witnessed young people transformed, destinies redirected, and lives upgraded by the power of God’s Word.
What I once considered weakness became a platform for God’s strength. What seemed like a small beginning became an opportunity for God’s glory to shine. This is why I can boldly say: God is able to make your latter glory greater than your former glory.
A Call to the Youth
Beloved young person, do not settle for a life without purpose. You are part of the latter house, and God has ordained you to carry His glory into your school, workplace, business, ministry, and community.
Refuse to be defined by fear, failure, or limitation. Align with God’s plan. Press on in faith. Look beyond your present circumstances. Behold His glory daily. The world is waiting for the manifestation of the glorious sons and daughters of God. May your life become a testimony of the latter house glory, and may your generation encounter Jesus through you.
Prayer
Dear Lord, thank You for making me a carrier of Your glory. Help me align with Your plan, press on in faith, and look beyond my present circumstances. Transform me from glory to glory as I behold You daily. Let my life reveal Your beauty, power, and purpose to my generation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
